Whitehall man charged with ethnic intimidation for menacing threats to neighbor

WHITEHALL, Ohio (WCMH) — Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that the Franklin County Grand Jury returned a two-count indictment against Michael Patrick Millay, 51, for threatening his neighbors based on their race.

Millay is charged with Ethnic Intimidation and Aggravated Menacing.

“The defendant threatened his neighbor’s life using offensive racial remarks in front of her two young grandchildren,” O’Brien said.

Tennessee man held on $1 million bond following alleged murder, crime spree charges

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A Tennessee man who allegedly shot and killed a Columbus man during what prosecutors call a “24-hour crime spree” has been formally arraigned on all charges Monday.

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced Thursday the Franklin County Grand Jury returned a 10-count indictment on 20-year-old Joshua Binkley in connection to a string of felonies committed on May 31.

New Albany man arrested for allegedly raping 6-year-old in Franklin County

A New Albany man wanted for allegedly raping a 6-year-old girl in Franklin County is in custody after turning himself in, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The FBI said an arrest warrant was issued on April 21 for 46-year-old Chaminda Palliyaguru on charges of rape of a minor child under the age of 10 and three counts of gross sexual imposition of a minor child, under the age of 13.

Mike Davis sentenced to at least 4 years in prison on child porn charges

Former 10TV meteorologist Mike Davis was sentenced to a minimum of four years in prison Thursday on child pornography charges.

In court, Davis apologized to his friends and family, saying: “I feel terrible I actually victimized children by looking at these images. I didn’t realize it at the time but I definitely realize it now. I also victimized my wife, my kids, my family, my friends and all the good people of central Ohio who trusted me on television for over 30 years. I’m very sorry for all that.”

Police: Columbus mother accused of killing 7-year-old son; stepfather also charged

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Columbus police say a 7-year-old boy is dead and his mother is charged with murder while his step-father is charged with endangering children.

According to police, on Saturday around 8:20 p.m., officers went to the 2400 block of Azelda Street on a report that a child had drowned.

Columbus man indicted for aggravated vehicular homicide in fatal March crash

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — A Columbus man has been indicted for aggravated vehicular homicide after a 64-year-old man was killed in a crash on Georgesville Road at West Broad Street in March.

The Franklin County Grand Jury returned the indictment against Jhuante Daniel Burton, 35, in connection to the March 20 crash that killed Steven R. Waits, 64, according to a news release from Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien.

Ohio prosecutors have backlog of cases, courtrooms not expected to fully reopen until June

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — Right now many victims and cases are in limbo because of the coronavirus pandemic. Court systems all across Ohio are looking at how to handle the volume of cases that haven't been touched in weeks and new cases too.

In Fairfield County, Prosecutor Kyle Witt says they've been working diligently to figure out how to give those arrested and victims their day in court.

Husel murder trial moved to 2021

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The trial against Dr. Willam Husel on 25 counts of murder has been moved to April of 2021.

The trial was originally scheduled to begin June 1.

Husel, who formerly worked in the Mount Carmel Health System, is charged with 25 counts of murder for allegedly ordering fatal doses of pain medicine for more than two dozen patients.
